{"id":716,"date":"2019-11-24T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-24T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.talesfromtheboatshed.com\/?p=716"},"modified":"2019-11-24T11:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-11-24T11:00:00","slug":"graduation-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.talesfromtheboatshed.com\/?p=716","title":{"rendered":"Graduation Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>No, not mine, but for BB13, the previous cohort to us, who finished in September, and had their Graduation Day on Thursday.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last graduation, of BB12, had been a bit lame, so the four of us, with James our Student Mentor-cum-Instructor devised some comedy awards, which added some fun to the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/EJ5u45cXkAA4Q8I.jpg:large\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Sally, Olly, Dai, Mark, Jennie and Joe &#8211; the students of Boatbuilding Course 13, with a lifejacketed Diggory Rose (Director of Marine Operations for PNBPT) &#8211; gathered for a trip on Steamship VIC 56, the newest member of PNBPT&#8217;s collection of historic boats.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a six month period of overlap, when two cohorts of students are both out on the &#8220;shop floor&#8221; and it has been great to get to know and work alongside these fellow students.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.talesfromtheboatshed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image-11.png?w=720\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-718\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><figcaption>Class Photo<br>Congratulations!!!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was lovely  to see them all again, catch up, and give them a good send off.  Some have already found work in boatbuilding or other activities &#8211; it will be great to keep in touch and follow their progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;Thirsty Thursday&#8217; is a weekly tradition for the IBTC Students so, naturally, the celebrations continued at our usual hostelry, The Ship &amp; Castle!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No, not mine, but for BB13, the previous cohort to us, who finished in September, and had their Graduation Day on Thursday.
